 The 2025 National Children’s Month Celebration with the theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” reminded us that children’s safety today is no longer limited to the streets or homes, it also includes the online world. As technology becomes part of everyday life, children are more exposed to online dangers such as abuse and exploitation. This year’s celebration helped raise awareness about these serious issues and encouraged everyone to take part in protecting children’s rights and well-being.

The government plays an important role in keeping children safe by creating laws and programs that focus on child protection. Through measures like the Anti-OSAEC-CSAEM Act and national campaigns, the government shows its commitment to stopping online abuse and holding offenders accountable. Agencies also work with schools, communities, and families to educate them about online safety and how to report suspicious activities. These efforts help ensure that children’s dignity and rights are respected.

Overall, the National Children’s Month Celebration is a reminder that protecting children is a shared responsibility. The Vigan City Festival 2026 was more than just a celebration, it was a meaningful reminder of how deeply culture and community are connected. Seeing the streets filled with parades, traditional performances, and people from different places showed how proud the Bigueños are

of their heritage. The celebration of the Longganisa Festival, in particular, highlighted how local products can represent history, identity, and livelihood. The energy of the crowd and the unity among participants reflected a strong sense of belonging and shared pride in Vigan’s 25 years of cityhood.

What stood out most was how the festival brought people together despite differences in age and background. Students, elders,

local officials, and visitors all took part in honoring the city’s past while celebrating its progress. The festival reminded me that preserving culture is not just about remembering traditions, but also about actively participating in them. Overall, the Vigan City Festival 2026 showed that celebrating heritage strengthens community spirit and inspires future generations to value and protect their cultural roots. An event I witnessed during the festival was the longganisa festival dance performances followed by the Parokya ni Edgar concert that took place at Plaza Burgos.

MY THIRD QUARTER

 

During the Third Quarter, I gained a deeper understanding of the subjects we studied and discovered new skills that helped me grow academically and personally. I learned how to express my thoughts more clearly through writing, analyze lessons more critically, and manage my time better when completing tasks and activities. These learnings allowed me to become more confident in sharing ideas and applying what I learned to real-life situations.

Along the way, I also encountered several challenges. There were times when the workload felt overwhelming, especially when deadlines from different subjects overlapped. I sometimes struggled with staying focused, managing my time properly, and understanding difficult lessons.

These challenges tested my patience and discipline, making the quarter both demanding and tiring at times.

To overcome these difficulties, I learned to organize my tasks and set priorities. I tried to manage my time better by creating simple schedules and breaking activities into smaller, manageable parts. Whenever lessons were hard to understand, I asked questions, reviewed my notes, and looked for additional resources to help me learn. With persistence and effort, I was able to complete my requirements and improve my performance.

Moving forward, I will continue to strengthen the habits I developed during the Third Quarter. I will work on improving my time management, staying consistent with my studies, and maintaining a positive attitude toward challenges. I aim to become more responsible and motivated, using my past experiences as lessons to achieve better results in the next quarter.

Jose Rizal: The Face of the Philippines

When people think of José Rizal, they often remember him as a hero who died for his country. However, Rizal’s greatest contribution to Philippine society goes beyond his martyrdom. His true legacy lies in how he awakened the Filipino people’s sense of identity and love for the nation through his ideas, writings, and example. At a time when Filipinos were silenced under Spanish rule, Rizal gave them a voice.

Through his novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, Rizal revealed the harsh realities of colonial life. He exposed corruption, abuse

of power, and social injustice in a way that ordinary people could understand and relate to. These books encouraged Filipinos to open their eyes, question unfair systems, and reflect on their own role in society. Rather than promoting violence, Rizal believed that change should begin with awareness and education.

Rizal also showed his love for the country through his actions. He valued education, believing it was the key to freedom and progress. As a doctor, writer, and reformist, he used his knowledge to serve others and improve communities. Even in the face of persecution, he remained firm in his principles, proving that courage does not always come from weapons but from standing up for what is right.

In the end, José Rizal’s greatest contribution was shaping the Filipino national consciousness. He taught Filipinos to think critically, value their dignity, and love their country responsibly. In the Philippines, Christmas is considered the country's longest holiday starting from September until December. Many Filipino practices such as Noche Buena, Simbang Gabi, and family reunions help bring people together for the joy of the holidays. 

The true essence of Christmas lies not in the gifts you give but the love, joy, and hope that you give and receive. Christmas is about spreading love to everyone.

Ultimately, the Christmas season teaches us to live with compassion and humility. When its values are practiced daily, the spirit of Christmas continues throughout the year.
